Do your bowel movements change after colonoscopy?
You may not have a bowel movement for a couple of days after the procedure. When you have your first bowel movement, you may notice some blood. This is likely normal and nothing to worry about.

Wear comfortable, loose clothing and socks to keep warm. Don't wear heavy or bulky sweaters. Avoid girdles, tights or tight clothing. You will need to change into a hospital gown for your procedure.

If your doctor told you to take your medications on the day of the procedure, take them only with a sip of water. Do not apply lotions, perfumes, deodorants or nail polish. Remove all jewelry and piercings. And remove contact lenses, if you wear them.
